I visited the store for the first time as a group after being invited by an acquaintance.I was looking forward to going to this restaurant after hearing its reputation, but in the end I won't be going there again.It was a shame because the taste of the food, including the yakitori, was certainly delicious.There were about 10 of us, but the tatami room next door and the first floor were also occupied, so it seemed like the place was almost full. After sitting down, we spent 45 minutes eating only cabbage and drinking beer.I think the employees should be trained a little more.When I told the young boy at the store, ``Is the food ready yet?It's been over 40 minutes and only the cabbage has been here.Even if I can't afford the grilled food, I would like some sashimi or kimchi as soon as possible.'' ``I'm sorry, but the place is full and I have my hands full.'' To make matters worse, he responded with a foolish and honest response, ``We're busy with food delivery, and it's difficult because we're separated by time.'' What does that have to do with customers? Even if you think about it, do you say it normally?Wouldn't it be better to try food delivery instead of having to do it inside the store? I thought about it, but it was pointless to say any more, so I stopped. Then, about an hour after I sat down and about the time I had eaten three bowls of cabbage, the food I had ordered started to arrive.The last thing that made me feel bad was that at 9:30 pm, a female clerk came and said, ``This is the last order.'' At 9:45 pm, she asked, ``Would you like to pay?'' Then, less than 5 minutes later, she said, ``Are you ready to take your seat?'' ~?” I started cleaning up and left the store at 9:50pm as if I was being kicked out.Until what time is it here? When I asked, they said, "The first floor opens at 23:00, and the second floor opens at 22:00." ``It's still 10:00 pm, don't you want to clean up so quickly?'' we all grumbled as we drank most of the drinks we had ordered as our last order and headed home.My honest impression is that the staff members are so busy that they are not very friendly, either when ordering or when they bring the food to you.It was an example of a restaurant where no matter how good the food was, the service was slow and the staff were not friendly enough to make me want to come back.

I made a reservation for 6 people, all men.I had a reservation for Saturday starting at 6pm, but there was a sign at the entrance that day saying the place was fully booked, so it seemed to be quite popular. The customer base was about half male and half, with a wide range of ages.Happy? There was a set, and snacks were provided at a low price, which was very helpful. The yakitori was on point and delicious. Even though we drank a lot, it was still reasonable at around ¥5000 per person 😊

A small yakitori (chicken/meat skewer) place near Tengachaya Station. Traditional environment (you have to take off your shoes and you eat on the low tables sitting on the floor). All very good. Advised!

We stumbled upon this little gem on our way to our airbnb in our first hour of being in Japan! They welcomed us with open arms and big smiles...backpack n all! The food was great, service was even better! Hinotori is an experience in and of itself!!

We had gone the night before, and it was full so one of the employees apologized and would not allowed us in. We got there a little earlier in the night the following day and they got us a seat, even apologizing for not having space for us the night before. The one who spoke to us the night before even gave us fries, on them, and kept saying sorry. They were so nice and welcoming. Even the other customers enjoyed talking to us. The aesthetic is very back alley, and this could be a hidden gem. Good is typical and will satisfy almost any tourist, but did not hit the spot for me and my lady. We have been living in Japan for almost a year, so this food was not new, and it was not cooked any different than what we are accustomed to, so it did not wow us. However, we would consider returning for the customer service and feel good environment.

Anything that has to do with chicken, they do it legit (raw or cooked). Other skewers are amazing likewise. satisfactory service as well. If you dont mind smokers, this place is worth visiting even if you dont stay nearby.
