Don't be fooled! They advertise it a lot on Instagram, so if you've seen it, check out the comments section of people who've actually been there. It's just a slightly better version of Yayoiken. It's not worth waiting in line for an hour.

I went to Gohanya Isshin in Nishi Umeda, a Japanese restaurant with delicious rice that has a long line of people waiting for lunch m(_ _)m It gets very crowded at lunch time, so you can avoid the crowded time by moving the lunch time a little ^_^ Japanese food is the most delicious for Japanese people (^∇^) and it was delicious d(^_^o)

I went there with my Japanese friend. The restaurant is very Japanese society , you can feel it.I had try new Japanese foods here, taste good.
Feels kind of upscale. Food was not bad. Overall not a bad place to enjoy a slow, relaxed lunch or dinner. Rice was free flow.
Great Japanese food close to Umeda station.A little difficult to find unless you’re with someone who’s been there before.Located in the basement of the building and no elevator available.No English speaking staff nor menus. No separate smoking/non-smoking seating.Table, counter and Japanese style tatami mat seating.Difficult to get reservations even on a weekday; book a few days in advance.A good variety of Japanese Sake and Shochu.Recommend Isshin if you or someone you go with speak and read Japanese.
